WE ARE
4C
Dear 4C Parents,
Welcome to a new and exciting grade! Fourth
grade is an intermediate grade and is very different than the primary grades.
You’ll soon see why!
I am excited to be your child’s
teacher and look forward to working with you. I’d like to give you a few
tidbits of information that will help make everyone’s transition to school a
little easier.
The
Planner
Each day your child will bring home their
planner (assignment book), where they are responsible for writing the daily
assignments in the planner and keeping it in their binders. I will initial each
student’s planner after they have written down the assignments, and I ask that
you initial each evening when they have completed their assignments. It’s
inevitable that as the school year gets along you may not initial each evening,
but it’s important to start the first semester doing this to help the kids
establish strong study and organizational habits.
Friday
Folder
Each
Friday the children will bring home a blue plastic folder with graded work,
notices and other important information. There is a pocket for papers that are
to stay home and a pocket for papers that are to be returned to school. Folders
are to be returned to school on Mondays.
Open House
The
OB Curriculum Night is Tuesday, August 26, 6:30 – 8:00 pm. At that time I will
discuss curriculum and expectations in 4th grade. You will also be
able to sign up for the first Parent/Teacher Conferences @ signuupgenius.com
Me Bags
This weekend students are to work on their
“ME BAGS”. The instructions are inside the bag and are really easy. They fill
the bag with 5 items that help describe them and what’s important to them. If
an item is too big to fit in the bag they can put a picture (photo, drawing,
cut-out) of the item in the bag. We ‘ll be sharing bags all of next week.
